Children's rights world

Every child has a right to be acknowledged by an adult as a person with his own rights (them being basic human rights as well as their special rights).
The legal position must be the same as in any other subject and different only in terms of taking in consideration children and their special needs and rights. Besides their rights of protection and safety the Convention of children’s rights is pointing out the right of free choice. In the process of finding different possibilities to help a child in need, it is unfortunately often the case that in the process of solving a problem, an actual child and his needs, feelings and comprehensions of reality are forgotten.

A project Mini mi, which we will start with in year 2013, is intended for children from 6 to 12 years of age. It includes theme workshops where children are thought about human and children’s rights, their understanding, how to be aware of them, to do something in respecting and protecting them and live by them in every day life. The theme of a workshop is adjusted according to the development stage of a child and lasts for two hours. It is set up from different activities, especially interactive games, communication and role playing.

The workshop is done once a week in the premises of Society UP, every Thursday from 17.00 and 19.00, with Elvira Garibović.
