Women inspiring Europe 2013

It is a great honour, promoting the project ‘’Women inspiring Europe’’, that through its movement or activities also promotes integration process of Muslim women as active intellectuals and activists.
The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) has issued a calendar for 2013 with a title Women inspiring Europe. On it there are photos of twelve European women with the description of their achievements whit which they, in different ways, contribute to a promotion of gender equality. Faila Pašić Bišić from Jesenice has also been chosen for this year’s calendar. A Muslim with a headscarf involved in social wellbeing, development cooperation and human rights.

EIGE is a European agency stationed in Vilnius that helps governments and institutions of European union in the field of gender equality. With the calendar Women inspiring Europe, they wish to point out the achievements of women and present their successful life stories. In this way they are presented as a role model and inspiration for all European women. Team of photographers recently visited Faila Pašić Bišić and photographed her in the premises of Society UP, Jesenice. In the calendar, issued every year, next to the picture, there are also written achievements of women and on the EIGE website, there are published stories ‘’Women of the month’’ or ‘’women of the week’’. In this manor, EIGE has already presented one Slovenian woman, climatologist Lučka Kajfež Bogataj.
