UN general assembly votes on Palestinian statehood

Most parties of the UN general assembly in New York, with 138 votes, supported a motion to upgrade the Palestinian Authority's observer status. Slovenia abstained the right to vote along with 40 other countries, nine were against it.
On Thursday 11/29/2012 voting took place in the UN general assembly, on the Palestinian statehood. Republic of Slovenia abstained the right to vote. Within the framework of civil initiative BDS Slovenia we will send an appeal to the minister of foreign affairs Mr. Karel Erjavec, to the Slovenian president Mr. Danilo Turk and the Prime Minister Mr. Janez Janša (we will also make it known to the media), because we believe the Republic of Slovenia should support the effort of the Palestinian nation.

Society UP Jesenice has joined the appeal and has harshly condemned the recent events in Gaza.
